Jesus and the Kingdom of God

After a year of relative obscurity, Jesus emerges preaching a simple message "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." This was the central messge of Jesus. But what did his original audience think when they heard this? What is exactly is the Kingdom of Heaven? And how are we to respond and enage with Jesus' words today? 

John the Baptist

John the Baptist was an odd and eccentric figure, and thousands came to him to be baptized in the Jordan in preparation for Jesus. But what are we supposed to learn from the life of John the Baptist, in what ways are our lives meant to parellel his? 

Escape to Egypt
